FAQs

How is Journley different from other language learning methods?

Journley is intended to be used alongside other methods but here's some of the ways it is different.

Difference from total immersion

Total immersion can be overwhelming. Journley helps you practice in a way that is more comfortable and less stressful.
There's more support like access to dictionaries, reminders about grammar points, and you can take your time and practice at your own pace.
No one will switch to your native language to make the conversation smoother.

Difference from learning apps or courses

Journley has no opinion about the order that you learn things in. It helps you practice conversation by journaling about your life and what is interesting to you.
Practice has no correct answer. If you spoke, wrote, or otherwise practiced your second language, you did it right and Journley celebrates it.

Difference from language forums

You don't need to fit into a conversation or wait for someone to want to converse. Just start journaling and you can practice. Connect with some study buddies who speak the same language and you'll both be able to practice conversations by responding to each other's posts.
Also, Journley strongly encourages conversations to stay in your learning language.

Differences from AI chatbots

You're connecting with real people who share an interest in learning languages.
